1) Tonight marks the first of four meetings between the Sarnia Sting and Kitchener Rangers this season. The next meeting will take place at Progressive Auto Sales Arena in Sarnia on Wednesday, November 2 at 7:05pm.

2) The Rangers were 2-1-1-0 vs. the Sting in the team’s regular season series last year.

3) The Rangers most recent game was a convincing 9-3 win over the Wolves in Sudbury on Sunday. The Sting are coming off a 4-3 overtime loss to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in Sarnia on Sunday.

4) Four Rangers rookies have scored their first OHL goals in the first three games of the season; Kyle Gentles (9/23 vs. FLT), Riley Damiani (9/30 vs. NB), Eric Guest (9/30 vs. NB) and Giovanni Vallati (10/2 vs. SBY).

5) Two Sting rookies have scored their first OHL goals in the first five games of the season; Brady Hinz (9/23 vs. OS) and Adam Ruzicka (9/30 vs. OTT).

6) The Rangers are the only remaining undefeated team in the Ontario Hockey League.

7) Kitchener scored the game’s opening goal in 15 of 16 games to start the 2015-16 season, going 13-0-3-0 in that span. They have allowed the first goal in all three games so far this season, but have rallied for wins in all three games.

8) The Sting have won all three games when they’ve scored the game’s opening goal. They’ve lost both games when allowing the first goal.

9) Sting defenceman Kevin Spinozzi leads OHL defencemen in goals (3) and points (7).

10) Rangers forward Greg Meireles leads all OHL rookies in assists (6) and points (7).

11) The Sarnia Sting have scored 21 goals so far this season, with more than half (12) coming in the third period.

12) The Rangers have scored 10 of their 19 goals this season in the second period. In three games played, they have not given up a third period goal.
