Kitchener Rangers and Mississauga Steelheads announce trade

 

The Kitchener Rangers announced today they have traded 2016 draft pick Merrick Rippon to the Mississauga Steelheads.

An Ottawa native, Rippon was selected by the Rangers in the second round, 36th overall in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection.

In exchange, the Rangers will receive:

  • 2nd round pick (NIA) in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection
  • 2nd round pick (MIS) in 2021 and
  • a Conditional 2nd (BAR) in 2023
  • a Conditional 3rd (MIS) in 2023
  • a Conditional 4th (MIS) in 2023

A product of the Ottawa Jr. Senators (HEO) Midget AAA program, the defenceman spent the 2016-17 season as a member of the Ottawa Jr. Senators of the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL).
