Kitchener Rangers receive player commitment from Liam Peyton

The Kitchener Rangers announced today that forward Liam Peyton has committed to an Ontario Hockey League standard player agreement with the club. Peyton was a 6th round pick of the team (118th overall) in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection.

The 5’11, 190lb Orleans, Ontario native was drafted from the Cumberland Grads (CJHL) in April’s draft. Peyton registered 15 goals with 13 assists for 28 points and 35 penalty minutes in 44 regular season games played in the 2015-16 regular season. He also participated in the OHL Gold Cup for Team HEO in May.

Dubbed physical and a hard worker, Rangers general manager Murray Hiebert said one of Liam’s most appealing elements to his game is the ability to be a steady two-way player.

“We drafted Liam this past April, and he proved to us he worked hard over the summer by the way he performed at camp,” said Hiebert. “We’d like to congratulate and welcome Liam and his family to our organization.”
