Penguins Select Matia Marcantuoni

Rangers forward Matia Marcantuoni was selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the fourth round (92nd overall) at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft on Saturday.


Kitchener’s first-round pick in the 2010 OHL Priority Selection, Marcantuoni has recorded 20 goals and 21 assists in 66 career games with the Rangers. The Woodbridge, ON-native has also shined on the international stage: in 2011, he captained Team Ontario to a gold medal finish at the U-17 World Hockey Challenge, before collecting another gold with the Men’s National Summer U-18 squad at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament.
