Rangers trade Cole Carter to Mississauga Steelheads

 

The Kitchener Rangers announced today they have traded winger Cole Carter to the Mississauga Steelheads.

In exchange, the Rangers will receive:

  • 3rd round pick (WSR) in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection
  • 3rd round pick (MIS) in 2022 and
  • 6th round pick (MIS) in 2020

The 19-year-old, Orleans, ON native is in his third Ontario Hockey League season, and was acquired by the Rangers last season in a deal with the Windsor Spitfires. He dressed in 73 regular season and playoff games for Kitchener over parts of the last two seasons, registering 14 goals and 22 assists for 36 points as a member of the Blueshirts.

“It is tough to see Cole move on but we wish him all the best in Mississauga,” said general manager Mike McKenzie. “He has earned the chance to play a key role on a team and we are happy he will get that opportunity, even though we will miss him here in Kitchener.”
