Sudbury Wolves acquire Doug Blaisdell from Kitchener Rangers

The Kitchener Rangers announced today they have traded defenceman Doug Blaisdell to the Sudbury Wolves.

In exchange, the Rangers will receive a conditional 4th round pick (KGN) in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection.

A native of Dearborn Heights, MI, Blaisdell was drafted by the Rangers in the third round, 58th overall in the 2013 OHL Priority Selection.

In his fifth season as a member of the Rangers, Blaisdell dressed in 217 regular season and playoff games combined, amassing a total of six goals and 20 assists for 26 points along with 139 career PIMs.

“Doug has been a part of this team for over four seasons and it was an extremely difficult decision to part ways with him,” said Rangers general manager Mike McKenzie. “He will be missed here in Kitchener by the staff and his teammates, but we wish him nothing but success in Sudbury as well as in the rest of his career and life after hockey.”
