Cole Carter’s go-ahead goal with 6:56 to play in the third period gave Team Blue a 3-2 win over Team White in the second scrimmage of Day Two at Rangers 2017 Training Camp Tuesday at The Aud.
Carter finished with a goal and an assist for Team White, who claimed their second one-goal victory over Team Blue of the day after claiming a 5-4 win in the 10am matinee.
Jake Henderson also had a two-point effort (1G, 1A), and opened the game’s scoring at 5:52 of the first period to give Team White the 1-0 lead, assisted by Greg Meireles.
Team Blue would respond before the period was out, with Jonathan Yantsis notching the equalizer, 1-1, from Adam Liška and Riley Damiani at 13:58.
In the final minute of second period action Team Blue claimed the lead, as Connor Bunnaman made it 2-1 from Carter at 19:26.
Again, the game was at a stalemate as Team White tied things up, 2-2, on the stick of Joseph Garreffa just past the midway mark of the period, from Giovanni Vallati and Henderson, at 11:02.
The game-winner came just over three minutes later at 14:04 when Carter found the back of the net, from Rickard Hugg and Jack York.
Jacob Hearne (first half of game) and Luke Richardson (second half of game) were in goal for Team Blue, while Connor Hasley (first half) and Lucas Pfeil (second half) tended the twine for Team White.
The game consisted of three, 20-minute periods with one-minute penalties.

Training Camp continues with one final scrimmage on Wednesday, August 30th at 10am at The Aud. All Training Camp scrimmages are open to the public and free to attend.

Including three preseason games in Buffalo, the Rangers will play a total of six exhibition games before the start of the 2017-18 regular season. The final game of the preseason – and lone home game at The Aud – takes place on Saturday, September 16th when the Blueshirts host the Niagara IceDogs at 2pm.
