Fourteen of the OHL’s top draft eligible prospects will attend this week’s 2019 NHL Scouting Combine in Buffalo, NY, looking to make an impression on clubs ahead of the 2019 NHL Draft set for June 21-22 in Vancouver, BC.
The 14 OHL players are part of a list of 108 attending the annual evaluation session that pairs physical testing with teams getting a chance to interview prospects of their choosing over the course of the weekend.
All 14 OHL players were included on the final edition of NHL Central Scouting’s 2019 Draft Rankings led by Hamilton Bulldogs forward Arthur Kaliyev who comes in as the seventh-ranked skater in North America. He’s joined by other highly touted forwards in 14th ranked Philip Tomasino of the Niagara IceDogs, 17th ranked Nick Robertson of the Peterborough Petes and 18th ranked Ryan Suzuki of the Barrie Colts.
On the blue line, Mississauga Steelheads rearguard Thomas Harley is the OHL’s top-ranked defenceman at 11th in North America while Peterborough Petes goaltender Hunter Jones is the lone OHL netminder attending after finishing as the third-ranked puckstopper.
