Cambridge Native Signs With Rangers

Kitchener, ON: Head Coach and General Manager Peter DeBoer announced today that Cambridge native Cam Fergus has signed with the team.

Fergus was the Rangers 6th round selection in the 2002 OHL Priority Selection.

The 5’10” centre for the Cambridge WinterHawks is currently 2nd on the WinterHawks in goals scored with 15 and is 5th in points with 31 in 31 games played.

“As a kid growing up I remember coming to Ranger games and dreaming of putting on the Rangers uniform,” said Fergus. “It’s an overwhelming feeling.”

“I want to thank Peter, Steve and the entire Rangers organization for drafting me and giving me the opportunity to play, they have been great” added Fergus.

Fergus, who is eligible to play five games between now and the end of the World Junior Tournament, will make his OHL debut Friday night against the Peterborough Petes. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
