Franzen and Henderson make a stop on the RBC School Tour

Kitchener Rangers players Gustaf Franzen and Jake Henderson recently visited Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School in Cambridge on Tuesday, November 24th and put on a Captain’s Clinic for Ms. O’Brien’s Grade 5/6 class.

“The class had natural talent,” said Jake. “They told us that many of them also participate in hockey outside of school.”

Jake and Gustaf took part in a few drills while donning goalie equipment, and gave helpful points in terms of living a healthy lifestyle and staying active.

While they both agreed there are some differences in elementary school now, compared to when they were students, there are also still similarities.

“Social Media is so prevalent everywhere you look now, even with kids this age,” said Gustaf. “Most of the kids were discussing their Instagram accounts and asking us about ours.”

“One thing that hasn’t changed, though, is making sure to take your schooling seriously,” Jake said. “Even though we are striving for our dreams, we still need to make sure we have our schooling in our back pocket, and so do the kids here today.”
