Rangers Knock Off Knights

Kitchener, ON: Playing in front of a fourth consecutive crowd of more than 6,000 at The Aud today the Rangers knocked off the visiting London Knights 5-3.

In the first the Rangers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on Michael Richards team leading 30th goal of the season at 2:14 much to the delight of the 6,123 in attendance.

Andre Benoit connected on the power play at 5:42 to give the Rangers a 2-0 lead. Richards and Petr Kanko picked up the assists.

David Clarkson made it a 3-0 game at 12:25 scoring on the power play.

London finally got on the board at 17:27 when Ryan Hare beat Rangers goalie Scott Dickie.

In the second period Gregory Campbell scored just :07 seconds in to build the lead to 4-1.

Adam Keefe added another at 7:35 to give the Rangers a 5-1 lead.

The Knights crept back into the game scoring two goals to finish out the period heading into the intermission down 5-3.

In the third the Knights were unable to beat Scott Dickie and fell to the Rangers 5-3.

The Rangers next home game is Friday, February 7th vs the Kingston Frontenacs. Game time is 7:30 pm at the Aud.
