Rangers Sign Top Two Draft Picks

Kitchener, ON: Rangers Head Coach & General Manager Peter DeBoer announced today that the team has signed their top two draft picks from this years OHL Draft Justin Azevedo and Jack Combs.


Last season as a member of the Chatham Maroons (Jr. B) Azevedo led all rookie scorers with 20 goals and 56 points in 41 games, those numbers were good for 7th overall in the entire league. He was also named the leagues Rookie of the Year.


Combs, who played last season with the California Wave (Midget) was the Rangers second round choice. With the Wave, Combs scored 58 goals and notched 103 points in 48 games.


The Rangers are holding their rookie camp this weekend at RIM Park in Waterloo. The Rangers will be on the ice Saturday evening from 7-9 pm and again on Sunday morning from 10-12.
