Kitchener has won four of the last five games against Mississauga dating back to January 5th, 2018 and have won the last two on home-ice at The Aud. In the past 10 contests, the Blueshirts are 6-2-2-0 against the Steelheads. The Rangers hold a 2-2-0-0 record this pre-season, while the Steelheads are 1-2-0-0.

Scouting the Rangers:
After being acquired in a trade with the Owen Sound Attack Wednesday and then signing an OHL contract with the Rangers on Thursday, Kitchener-native Kyle Morey is expected to make his pre-season debut with his hometown team Saturday and will wear number 23 for the Blueshirts. He joins Joseph Serpa (Cambridge) and Matthew Sop (Kitchener) as the third local skater currently signed by the Rangers.

Carson Rehkopf leads the Rangers with six points (3G, 3A) in four pre-season games. Adam Zidlicky holds a point-per-game average with four points (3G, 1A) in four games thus far. Defenceman Hunter Brzustewicz continues to impress both offensively and defensively this pre-season with a stat line of four points (2G, 2A) and a plus-2 rating. Rookie forward Justin Bottineau tallied his first goal of exhibition play last game against Barrie and will also look to continue his production through his first OHL pre-season.

The Rangers are missing eight players as six are currently away competing at NHL Training Camps: Tomas Hamara (Ottawa Senators), Mitchell Martin (Detroit Red Wings), Simon Motew (Washington Capitals), Francesco Pinelli (Los Angeles Kings), Roman Schmidt (Tampa Bay Lightning) and Reid Valade (Ottawa Senators). Cameron Mercer and Antonino Pugliese are unable to play due to injury.

Scouting the Steelheads:
Luke Misa leads Mississauga through exhibition play with four points (3G, 1A) in three games. James Hardie returns to the Steelheads finishing 22nd overall in points last season. That was good for best on the Steelheads roster, also recording the most goals with 41.

The Steelheads currently have three roster players that are eligible for the upcoming NHL entry draft in 2023. Forwards Stefan Forgione and William Valdermar Hull. The sole defenceman is Finn Harding. Owen Beck (Montreal), Luca DelBelBulluz (Columbus) and Ethan Del Mastro (Chicago) are the current NHL draftees on the roster.
