Below are the current opportunities available within the Kitchener Rangers organization.

 

 

Game Production Crew

 

OVERVIEW

The Kitchener Rangers are seeking qualified individuals to join its Game Production Crew and play an important role in providing a fun, entertaining and informative game experience for fans. The Game Production Crew members rotate through different positions including switching, graphics, and replay systems.

We are looking for candidates that possess experience or that are working toward a post-secondary education in broadcasting, media/communications, or a similar field.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Meet with the Director on game nights to receive rundown and assignments.

Take direction from Director via headset.

Capture in-game action, fan shots, contests, promotions and intermission events that take place in-arena.

Run advertising and promotions on the video and ribbon boards based on game schedule provided.

Some lighting assistance required.

Prepare replays of in-game action.

Edit together highlight packages in a timely manner.

Follow Kitchener Rangers guidelines, standards and policies.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE

Experience or post secondary education and broadcasting/production.

Strong communication and organization skills.

Works well with a team.

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Organized and efficient with the ability to take the initiative on tasks.

Must have reliable transportation to get to the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium for games.

Must be able to commit to a work and the majority of Rangers home games for the 2019-2020 season, with hours determined based on position each game day (exhibition games, 34 regular season, and potential playoffs).

In-Game Disc Jockey

 

OVERVIEW

The Kitchener Rangers’ in-game DJ plays an integral role in creating an exciting experience for fans. The preferred candidate must possess a strong knowledge of current and past music. Must be able to connect and engage fans through music selection from the beginning to end of the Rangers game day (warm-up through to end of three stars presentation).

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE

Disc Jockey experience.

Strong communication and organization skills.

Works well with a team.

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Organized and efficient with the ability to take the initiative on tasks.

Must have reliable transportation to get to the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium for games.

Must be able to commit to full 2019-2020 season while arriving no later than two hours before each home game (four exhibition, 34 regular season, and potential playoffs).

Note: a laptop and software are provided.

Mascot Staff

 

OVERVIEW

The Kitchener Rangers’ Mascots connect with Rangers fans at home games during the hockey season. This part-time, seasonal role also includes various community events throughout the year to bring the excitement of Rangers hockey to the public.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Ability to perform physically demanding work.

Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time.

Strong ability to communicate with high standards of professionalism.

Attention to detail is mandatory.

Ability to work well with the public, especially children.

Previous event and customer service experience is preferred.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE

Candidates must be open to flexible scheduling, including evening, weekend and holiday home games.

Organized and efficient with the ability to take the initiative on tasks.

Game Operations Volunteers

 

OVERVIEW

Kitchener Rangers’ Game Operations Volunteers offer a hands-on experience with an Ontario Hockey League franchise while also building your resume with reputable volunteer experience.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare and operate our hospitality rooms (Don Cameron and Les Bradley Room).

Sell programs.

Conduct sound check/run through with live entertainment (anthem singer, choirs, bands, color guards, etc.).

Assist with live promotional giveaways.

Enthusiastically interact with fans during live promotional giveaways.

Ensure all items have been accounted for and stored.

Review game script and prepare game day materials i.e.: promotional contestant forms, promotional waivers, promotional props (sticks for shootouts, etc.), prizing elements, game day memos for live entertainment, mini game teams.

Work alongside our game presentation team to ensure proper timing for promotions and presentations.

The opportunity to work other team events (Season Ticket Holder Skate, Special Hockey Charity Game, etc.).

Assist with set-up for special events (Season Ticket Holder appreciation nights, etc.)

Liaise with corporate partners on event nights.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE

Strong communication and organization skills.

Able to multi-task in a fast pace environment.

Organized and efficient with the ability to take the initiative on tasks.

Must have reliable transportation to get to the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium for games and events.

Must be able to commit to full 2019-2020 season, arriving no later than two hours before each home game (34 home games).

Must be able to maintain professionalism when working with and around athletes, coaching staff and management.

Must be willing to work hard, be on time and present him/herself professionally.

Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds and perform some manual labour, as an essential function of the position.
