Rangers head north for three game road trip

The Kitchener Rangers will head north this upcoming weekend. The trip begins Friday, when they take on the Sudbury Wolves. Saturday, they battle the North Bay Centennials before concluding the trip with a Sunday evening game against the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. The Rangers, now 3-1-0, next home action will be Friday, October 12, when the North Bay Centennials come to town. Game time is 7:30pm at The Aud.

THE STORY

The Kitchener Rangers first road trip of the season takes place this upcoming weekend. The team departs for Sudbury later this week, as they take on the Wolves Friday night. Game time is 7:30pm. This will be the first of three games in three nights for the Rangers. The Rangers defeated the Wolves 2-1 in their only other meeting thus far, before 4,903 fans at The Aud.

Saturday, the Rangers head to North Bay for their first game against the Centennials. The Centennials line-up features five NHL draftees; including goaltender Andrew Penner, defencemen Chris Eade and Vladimir Sapoznikov, as well as forwards Peter Flache and Chris Thorburn. Game time is 7:00pm in North Bay.

The Rangers conclude the road trip Sunday by taking on the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. Game time is 6:30pm in Sault Ste. Marie. Ray Emery led the Greyhounds to a 2-1 victory when the two teams met this past Sunday, before 4,398 fans at The Aud.

The Rangers are very pleased with the strong attendance figures thus far. With an average of 5,009 fans per game in the early going, the Rangers are ahead of last years average of 4,880.

The Rangers next home action will be Friday, October 12, when the North Bay Centennials come to town. This game marks the beginning of a stretch that sees the Rangers play 6 home games in 17 days.
